General Tso's Chicken and Wonderful shrimp were entrees that we will be ordering again. As soon as you sit down, ask what is and is not available on the menu. They do have new menus on order, but there are many things on current menu they do not serve... it will save you time having to restart your selection process. The Vietnamese egg rolls are a fantastic beginning to a delicious meal... we almost always have to get two orders (four total). Remember to exercise your patience, as this is a small town restaurant.
Unfortunately they are closed and plan to reopen March 6th.
Good beef pho and chicken veggies with rice !!! My wife (from St. Paul) and I (from Hong Kong ) both had a great experience there!!! Highly recommend if you want an Asian meal in Two harbors!
Good food and a great place to eat with friends
Good food good service.
Amazing food, Fast friendly service with a smile
The food is amazing, the decor and interior, not so much. Very weird decorations and loose wiring. Ceiling fan is nailed to the ceiling and a VERY annoying welcome noise when you walk in.
Worst food and service ever. Orders were all wrong and and did not receive any food. Pho noodles were very thick and hard.
I am a pho fan. It is hard to find good pho. This was very good. Fragrant, light, tons of noodles. Really good. The spring rolls were really good. The peanut sauce I was eating with a spoon it was so good. Service was fast and friendly and prices are very reasonable. You need to stop here when you are on the North Shore. Edit: we try to go back to North Shore once a year. We went back to this place again. Still excellent pho and spring rolls. Fast and friendly sevice. Well worth your time to try this place. If I were lucky enough to live near, I'd eat here a lot. 🍜
Great place amazing food fast service
The pho thai tasted good and is spicy! Fried rice is good too. The only problem kept me from rating a 5 is the beef should be thinly sliced. It doesn't taste good when it's a big chunk.
Very delicious meal indeed. Service was surprisingly quick. All expectations were surpassed.
Try the triple delight. The sauce is fantastic. Also the best egg drop soup I ever had.
Food and price good. Can bring in alcoholic drinks from bar next door. Needs updates interior.
Got food to go. Food was good and service was good.
I came in today to order some food. The sign says OPEN and the doors were unlocked. We sat there for 20 MINUTES and nobody ever came to take our order or anything. I could hear people talking and moving around in the back and we even called out to see if they didn't notice the door ring, as well as opened the door a few times to try and get their attention. I will never come back here, and I used to be a customer of the previous owners. Sad to see a good place go so downhill.
Lilly is a wonderful hostess and chef! I stopped in for lunch with my two small children and they devoured the pho and egg rolls. Pho broth was very aromatic and flavorful. As extra gesture of hospitality, Lilly and our family had a pleasant conversation at the end of our meal - my daughter commented on how she liked the fan-shaped clock on the wall of the restaurant, and Lilly offered that we take it home with us! I highly recommend it!!!
The waiter with the long sexy har was xtra thiccc. Only complaint is not enough sake
The only Pho on the north shore and it's fantastic. Nice people, large dinning area (warm and comfortable)
Overpriced mediocre food, spring roll is too dry and flavorless even with the sauce, pho noodles are really thick and the soup tastes sweet. The rare steak pho is sus, the shrimp options have a pretty small serving considering that this is chinese/Vietnam food. We got billed $50 for 3 bowls of pho, a shrimp and veggies that looks like it wouldn't fill up a 5 year old and a 2 spring rolls. I wouldn't go, and if this seems like your only option get some gas station hot dogs and snacks untill you get to a better option.
pad thai yummy!orange chicken really good . light sauce
I had the Vietnamese egg rolls and pad Thai to go. Egg rolls were good, but came with that neon red sauce, I prefer fish sauce, but that's just me. The pad thai was good enough for a craving and considering I was in a small town. There was a good amount of chicken which impressed me, the flavor just wasn't quite there for me. I would go again for the egg rolls.
Delicious pho tai. Reasonable prices for a large amount of food. I loved it!
I've ordered takeout twice now for our family and the food is AMAZING! Wonderful taste and preparation and friendly staff.
Love the food here. Live in Duluth but worth the drive every time. Spicy dishes are actually spicy and delicious. Super friendly service highly recommended.
Great curry. Had not been here before and decided at the last minute to try the Curry which was highly recommended by the server. Reasonable prices as well. It was a little chilly in the restaurant but still a very good experience.
Our family gets take out from there quite a bit. We never seem to have issues.
As of April 5th of 2013 the Vietnamese Lantern has new owners. Thank God! The former owners had basically run it into the ground. The new owners have revamped the menu and use their own recipes. Their customer service is vastly improved as well. I had quit eating at this establishment several years ago, but now I eat there at least once a week. I am a foodie who has traveled and lived in many other parts of the US. The dishes they serve up are comparable to some of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Tulsa, OK.
Great food and peaceful atmosphere! Two harbors hidden gem 💎
The food was average. We ordered fresh spring rolls, but the only filling were a few shrimps, few rice noodles (if there were any) and lots of lettuce. Pad thai was okay, but super spicy - I do hope they ask customers for the spiciness level because not everyone can tolerate "Thai" spicy. My friends had orange chicken, pho and chicken wings which were just okay. The server was nice though. The service was great which compensated the average food they served.
Absolutely shocked to find such fine Asian Cuisine in Two Harbors. They offer Chinese, Vietnamese, and some Thai food options. I had the fresh spring rolls and the beef Pad Thai. It was phenomenal. And since we are on vacation, it was a nice break from the sandwich / hamburger situation we encountered at most places. The spring rolls were extra delicious, and the peanut sauce they came with was warm. I've never had that before, and it was a delicious surprise.
Some of the best egg rolls I've ever had (2 varieties). Good selection of authentic dishes, and friendly service. Could improve a little on the Salad Bar, but overall very good and the prices our very reasonable.
Excellent food awesome service
Terrible service. There was only one lady to take the order. The same lady had to run around and serve the food too. She didn't even took enough details when we placed the order. When we got the food it was so blanch with no flavor.
Great food fast service, family friendly.
Great food. I wish the buffet was back but I understand that it is slow during the off season and food would go to waste. I like the staff there too. General Tso's is good. Didn't see it on the menu but you can request it. Egg rolls were super good. The beef lo mein was wok fresh. Pad Thai was flavorful but the noodles were in a massive heap stuck together.During the off season, you may find that the restaurant is closed even during business hours. Also, when it is open, you might not see any workers inside. Just make yourself known by yelling into the kitchen. You have to remember that this is a small family run business that needs to be mindful of cost so they might be prepping in the back with no one out front. The great food but questionable service is just a victim of small town lack of traffic so cut them a break. They're a really nice family just trying to scratch out a living in the north country. Support local.
Good food, authentic music, but had to ask for water refills. The interior decor was a little strange... but the food is good!
New ownership has my approval! The food was perfectly prepared. We stopped in at the Harbor Landing next door for a beer, and this place was next door. We were able to order at the bar and they brought it to us. Very authentic food, not the same deep fried and breaded fare you find at most Chinese restaurants. It is definitely made from scratch. I would recommend.
We eat here when we are in Two Harbors and always have good food and service.
The food is ALWAYS made fresh, per order. The flavors are spectacular!
I just got Pho to go and it was exactly what I expected this far north! Being from The Metro, good Pho is easily identified and there are plenty of options. There are none up here which is why this place gets away with what I experienced today.... For starters The broth was more like sause than soup. I got minimal toppings, and no bean sprouts for the first time ever!!!! Pho without bean sprouts?!?! My spring rolls were all lettuce, no pork, with 1 1/2 shrimp in it.... I've been coming up north for 14 years and against better judgment, I finally decided to give this place a chance.... That was a first and last.
Loved the food. A gracious, joyful, and helpful staff
My original review from two years ago: Food was flavorless and most of it was old and dry, especially the cream cheese wantons. Rediculously expensive for what you get.My review now: Sign said open at noon. I stood around just after noon, with my toddler, both of us hungry and impatient to each lunch. Figured I'd give it a try after 2 years as I know management changes frequently. We waited for 15 minutes, walked around to the other door, couldn't find a sign explaining the reason for not being open. No lights on, no people around. We went to Judy's instead and it was great!
I loved the food there. I got the sweet and sour chicken to go. Yummy! I'll go there again. The owner was very nice.
Amazing service and food
Enjoying the Pad Tai... best I have had since California! Perfect spice. If you drive by stop on in. The owner is kind and makes amazing food that nourishes your soul.
This is the best burger place ever. When i walked in and saw Tom Hanks talking to Garth Brooks planning his next movie. I loved the crepes, and needed more soju. I would love to eat at this greek joint another time!
The food was delicious and the service was very good. Price was a bit high though. I would recommend tying it out.
We're back, again. Ordered the same lunch: Spring Roll & Pho. Excellent!
I get food from the lantern for my mom and i all the time. I love the owner who works there. Also everyone else who works there is super awesome as well :)
